CCNA 4: Accessing the WAN is the final Cisco course. The main focus of this Cisco course is on accessing wide area networks (WANs).
On this section, learners will be given the opportunity to apply the skills gained in the previous CCNA 1, CCNA 2, and CCNA 3 courses to a network. You will also demonstrate your ability to describe how and why a specific networking strategy is employed.
Cisco Course Objectives
The main aim of this particular course is to build a greater understanding of WAN technologies that connect business networks. The CCNA 4 course introduces WAN converged applications and quality of service (QoS). It centres on WAN technologies incorporating Frame relay, PPP, and broadband links. WAN security theories are examined in greater detail. Students will learn about various types of threats, how to analyze vulnerabilities in networks, as well as wide-ranging methods for mitigating everyday security threats. The CCNA 4 Cisco course will explain the concepts behind traffic control and access control lists (ACLs). You will learn how to implement IP addressing services for an Enterprise network, looking at NAT and DHCP configurations. You will also learn about IPv6 addressing. The course will teach you how to use a Cisco Router and Security Device Manager (SDM) in order to secure a router and execute IP addressing services. You will also learn how to detect, troubleshoot and correct common network implementation issues.
Once you have completed this element of the Cisco course, you will the have the ability to perform the following tasks:
